On Saturday, November 8th, the campus of The Williams School was transformed into a bustling fall festival for its beloved Annual Oyster Roast. Under a clear starlit sky, the air was filled with the mouthwatering aroma of freshly roasted oysters and the soulful sounds of the HM Johnson Band.
For many, it was a night of tradition and "Williams spirit." For The Roofing Company team, it was an opportunity to support a vital local institution—and, as it turns out, a chance to take home a piece of the "Wild West."
A Night Under the Stars
The Oyster Roast has long been a staple of the Norfolk fall season. This year’s 21+ event brought together parents, alumni, and community partners for an evening of great food and cold drinks. While the oysters were the stars of the show, guests enjoyed a full spread of delicious alternatives, ensuring no one left hungry.
The energy was high as friends gathered around fire pits, shucking oysters and celebrating the school's mission. But the excitement reached a fever pitch during the Door Prize drawings, which offered a sneak peek at the school’s next big venture.
A "Wild" Preview
This year’s raffle prizes were all themed around the upcoming 45th Annual "Wild, Wild, Williams" Fundraising Auction, scheduled for March 28, 2026, at The Neon House. The auction theme draws inspiration from the grit and glory of the American frontier, emphasizing the resilience and community that define The Williams School.
Our very own Cara, a member of The Roofing Company team, was enjoying the festivities at our sponsor tent when her name was called as a winner! She took home a beautiful "Wild West" inspired package, featuring:
A stylish Western-themed sweatshirt.
Artisan earrings.
A decorative display plate.
Looking Ahead: Ride into the Sunset
While the Oyster Roast has come to a close, the "trailblazing" for The Williams School is just beginning. The funds raised from the roast and the upcoming auction are vital for supporting the students and programs that make the school so special.
