Comprehensive Roofing Solutions in Norfolk
This project involved a thorough replacement of the existing roof on both the main house and low-slope area. To ensure optimal water management, The Roofing Company installed custom-fabricated aluminum drip edge flashing along all eaves, a crucial element for protecting the roof's perimeter.
Where the roof met vertical walls, new black aluminum step flashing was integrated, creating a durable and watertight seal. Three new custom-made copper vent pipe collars were installed, providing long-lasting protection against leaks.
Enhancing the home's natural light and ventilation were key components of the project. Two existing skylights were removed and replaced with new Velux Fixed Deck Mount skylights and flashed for a seamless and weathertight finish.
The chimney also received attention with the installation of a cut-in aluminum flashing over a new leak barrier, a critical detail for preventing water intrusion.
For the main roof, GAF Timbertex fiberglass shingles in Slate were installed and finished with GAF Timbertex Hip and Ridge cap.
The Roofing Company, Inc. also addressed the home's low-slope section. Understanding the unique challenges of these areas, they installed a robust three-ply Modified Bitumen system, a popular choice for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities and durability on flatter surfaces.
Finally, to improve attic ventilation and contribute to the roof's longevity, new GAF attic fans were installed.
