Historical Metal Roof Restoration in Ivor

The Solution: A Complete System To ensure this home remains safe and watertight for the long haul, we installed a comprehensive roofing system designed for both aesthetics and durability:

Flat Roof Defense: For the low-slope transition areas between the house and kitchen, we installed a White Fibertite Rubber Membrane heat-welded to clad metal for a seamless, watertight seal.
Water Management: We upgraded the drainage with a Nordic Half-Round Gutter System. We routed the Nordic Hangers flush into the decking, ensuring the gutters are securely embedded rather than just tacked on.
Underlayment: The entire deck was covered with a High-Temperature Ice & Water Shield, providing the ultimate leak barrier against driving rain and ice dams.

The Process: Carpentry Meets Craftsmanship We believe in fixing the root cause, not just covering it up. Before a single metal panel was installed, we performed extensive carpentry repairs:

Structural Leveling: We utilized dry lines to identify uneven areas, installing custom 2x6 support studs, collar ties, and cross ties to straighten the bowed ridge line and reinforce the attic framing.
Historic Integrity: We replaced rotted wood decking boards to match the home’s original architecture, ensuring a perfectly flat surface for the new roof.
Custom Metalwork: Instead of relying on factory bends, our technicians used a Falzseamer tool to create double-folded standing seams on-site. We also hand-fabricated custom chimney caps and flashing to protect the masonry work.
