This beautiful 1922 Norfolk waterfront residence showcases a decade of continuous preservation, elite craftsmanship, and dedicated stewardship. Since 2016, we have partnered with the homeowner to systematically repair, maintain, and modernize their historic roof system. Through this proactive care, we have significantly improved the roof's structural integrity and water-shedding performance, protecting the home's historic charm while delivering premier, high-value coastal defense against harsh marine elements.

1. Dedicated Slate Stewardship (Since 2016): We have performed delicate slate repairs on this home since 2016, hand-replacing broken tiles with historically accurate reclaimed Buckingham blue-black slate to prevent water entry and protect adjacent tiles.
2. Architectural Copper Enhancements (2020): Strengthened the main roof line by installing custom-made heavy-duty copper caps, permanently secured with copper straps and hidden fasteners.
3. Porch Roof & Flashing Upgrades (2022): Stripped old materials to install durable plywood decking, GAF Weather Watch leak barrier, and GAF Slateline Antique Slate shingles, accented with custom-fabricated copper step flashing.
4. On-Site Hand-Turned Metal Masterpiece (2025): Custom-fabricated, hand-bent, and mechanically turned a steel standing seam roof on-site in a striking Deep Red.
5. Critical Slate-to-Metal Transition: To eliminate leaks where the roofs meet, we carefully removed and saved the transition slates, installed a high-temperature water barrier running directly up under the slate line, hand-turned the new metal panels, and seamlessly reinstalled the original slate over the joint
