This bathroom remodel was not what we would call a “complete overhaul”, although a couple of choice changes would give it that appearance. For starters, the existing vanity was a built-in, attached to a dividing wall. This dividing wall, which separated the locations of the shower and commode, was removed to give the bathroom an open floor plan. Ms. Rash chose a furniture-style cherry vanity with a black granite top.
The homeowner of this Virginia Beach townhouse decided to do a complete master bathroom remodel, not only to accommodate her own needs, but also to give it a visual facelift.
You may not think of the fall and winter seasons as the time to construct an outdoor project. But we think this is the ideal time to get it done so you can spend time enjoying it when the warm weather returns! The Dofflemyer family had The Roofing Company and The Remodeling Company reconstruct their backyard this past winter, leaving it completed just in time for the spring.
In these warm-weather months, there’s nothing like a festive cookout on a backyard deck to entertain our friends and family. However, doing so on a traditional wood-built version can become a chore with the hassles of cleaning, staining and repairing warped boards. The homeowners of our featured project knew just that. The once small-scale, painted wood deck would be transformed into a much larger, multi-level, composite outdoor space.
When it’s cold and dreary outside, it can be hard to focus on your outdoor living space. But as we’ve mentioned before, there isn’t a better time to make an upgrade so that when the anticipated warm weather arrives, you can enjoy it. When Mr. & Mrs. Wilson decided to revamp their dated kitchen, it was “out with the old and in with the new.” But, this job was more than just a swap-out-the-old-appliances kind of remodel. The kitchen’s original layout used space poorly. It felt crowded with the protruding eat-in dinette and appliances placed in close proximity. A complete redesign was necessary for the new kitchen to meet the Wilson family’s needs.

It’s all in the details. That’s why The Remodeling Company knows that there’s “no job too small”. Even a simple repair can make a world of difference, in a kitchen for example, as seen in these before and after photos. Few rooms are as welcoming to family and friends as an open and bright kitchen. It is, after all, where we spend so much of our time, especially during the fast-approaching holidays. A first-story sunroom addition and a remodeled kitchen brought this Newport News home up to date while also conforming to the lifestyle of its homeowner. Mrs. Rash has a green thumb that she wanted to put to use indoors, as well as out. This would require a “change of space” with a few bonus features.
When they said “a picture speaks a thousand words”, they must have been referring to those shown here of the Toole family’s finished kitchen remodel. By updating & upgrading all of the kitchen’s features to an elegant state, they created a space where, not only will everyone want to congregate, but will never want to leave!
In June 2009, Dr. & Mrs. Edwards experienced total disaster when a gas leak caused an explosion in the garage of their Newport News home. Shortly after the blaze began, Remodeling Company staff members arrived onsite to immediately begin assessment of damage. Sales team member, Jesse Wyatt has serviced the Edwards’ in the past for various home improvement projects, and in fact, had been currently working on a proposal for their windows to be replaced. This project was about to become quite more extensive.
When you hear the word “remodel” you may be inclined to picture that spa-like bathroom you’ve always dreamed of or a fresh new kitchen with state of the art appliances. For some homeowners, though, a remodel may not be planned or expected, but rather a matter of getting their home back to a livable state. This homeowner in Norfolk experienced such a case when the nor’easter of November 2009 uprooted a tree and caused significant storm damage.
A Norfolk area kitchen remodeling project encompasses so many different facets from the raw to the grand and lofty style; from the least to the most important detail that it can easily be overwhelming even to the most determined you! Since the kitchen is the most important avenue in a home where everyone ends up and meets most of the time within the day, it must be a space conducive to spending time together.
Kitchen Cabinets can literally make or break a kitchen remodel. With this in mind, it is becoming more and more important to make sure you are choosing the right kind of kitchen cabinets for your lifestyle and your home.

In most households, the clothes dryer is an essential appliance. But few homeowners understand how to properly install and maintain their dryer, and this lack of knowledge can result in a serious fire hazard. In fact, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates more than 15,000 fires are sparked by clothes dryers every year. The vast majority of these fires occur in residential buildings, sometimes resulting in injury and even death.
