Brian Chalsma, The Roofing Company President, stands with Robert C. Scott, Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District, as he joins thousands of other roofing professionals to take over Capitol Hill and discuss important issues that affect the roofing businesses and industry as a whole.
Roofing Day in D.C. was held March 6-7, 2017 in Washington D.C. This marked the first and largest advocacy event where contractors, manufacturers, distributors, service providers and other roofing professionals joined together to share their message with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. The roofing industry faces critical governmental policy issues, worker shortages and regulatory burdens which needed to be addressed by Congress. Where the roofing industry was often not heard in the past, The National Roofing Contractors Association and Prime Advocacy came together to create this important event where they finally had a voice.
The event turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to meet with members of Congress and their staffs. NRCA states, “We delivered our message about the most important legislative and regulatory issues affecting the roofing industry and your business. This was a unique and exciting opportunity as we took over Capitol Hill and spoke with one voice as a united industry!”
The following video is by Reid Ribble, NRCA CEO. He spent 6 years in the House of Representatives and noticed the roofing industry was not being heard from.
