How many companies do you know that have staff training on a regular basis? You can probably name several. Now, how many construction companies can you even imagine, not only hold an Annual Training Day at the end of each year, but train their staff continuously throughout the year? Okay, may a few. Nail down a bit further (yes, pun intended), and we’ll narrow it down to one of only two GAF Master Elite Presidents Club roofing companies in Virginia to win the GAF Training Excellence Award consecutively for over fourteen years according to a top GAF trainer. You guessed it, The Roofing Company, Inc. in Hampton, Virginia, who has been a performance and customer service driven company in the Hampton Roads Area, Virginia since 1998.
We’ll cover more about the GAF Training Excellence Award in a future blog. For now, you will receive a bit of history of how training developed within The Roofing Company. As you might imagine, when it rains, roofs aren’t being repaired or replaced. Therefore, the production staff is out of work for that day or possibly several days. A plan was established to utilize these “rain days” by incorporating hands-on training for the field staff. In doing that, it also provided peace of mind for each employee who was able to work that day.
The training concept took very little time before it became a significant part of The Roofing Company culture.
