The Preservation Trades Network Presents the 20th Annual International Preservation Trades Workshop
The topic was "Slate Roof Repair, Restoration and Maintenance." Presenters included Gary Howes, Nick Price, Chris Short, Chris Paulin, and Joe Jenkins.
The event was held on the grounds of Clermont Farm, a 360-acre research and training site in history, historic preservation, and agriculture, owned by the Department of Historic Resources of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before the workshop they put their hands to work, repairing the springhouse located on the farm. During the weekend, they enjoyed a dinner and auction to benefit the PTN Misia Leonard Scholarship Fund.
The National Slate Association, represented by Brian Chalsma and Bob Williams, also conducted a slate presentation at the IPTW.
