The Roofing & Remodeling Company is pleased to announce the winner of our first No Roof Left Behind campaign: Laura Norman of Chesapeake! Laura’s home at 1004 Scarlet Oak Court South will soon have a new roof, thanks to many local friends and neighbors.
The No Roof Left Behind project is a nationwide program that gives community members a way to help their neighbors that have fallen on hard times. Local contractors volunteer for the program, and No Roof Left Behind provides the framework to provide a new roof at no cost to a deserving homeowner in need. “We are very pleased with the success of this initiative that has brought so many members of our community together. We are excited to celebrate with everyone who made this possible,” said Brian Chalsma. Laura was nominated by her mother and a friend. Both praised Laura’s work ethic, her contributions to the community as a Special Education Teacher for Chesapeake Public Schools, and her eagerness to help others in need. As a single mother providing for three young children on a teacher’s salary, Laura could not afford to replace her leaking Chesapeake roofing. She was one of four local nominees, and the public voted her the winner of the free roof through the No Roof Left Behind website. Voting was open August 28 through September 22, 2014. When asked about her reaction to winning the prize, Laura says she and her family are speechless. “There are no words to express how grateful we are and how much it means to our family. We are beyond thankful to have this opportunity and for all the support we have received,” she says. “Thank you so much!” For more information, please call (757)-867-6600.
